Become a member of Ratepayers & Community Intervenors
Ratepayers and Community Intervenors are elected officials, organizations, scientists, engineers and concerned residents who have concerns about the Cayuga and Dunkirk "repowering" proposals being considered by New York's Public Service Commission - proposals that will have economic and environmental impacts to a 24 county region in central and western New York. We want to ensure that the PSC adheres to its mandate to protect the ratepayer and consider the full environmental impact when making a decision to "repower" the Cayuga and Dunkirk coal plants with gas, or to shut them down and instead upgrade the transmission lines.
Join us in telling the Governor and Public Service Commission that you oppose converting the Cayuga and Dunkirk plants to burn methane gas. Instead, you want transmission upgrades - a solution that will cost less on your electric bill and is better for the environment. Tell them to stop the delays and show real leadership by investing our money wisely -in transmission lines that improve the grid and support renewable transmission, not wasting our money in fossil fuel infrastructure that will soon be obsolete.
